Frequently asked questions
Why does this tool need an internet connection when the others don't?
Exchange rates change constantly and can't be calculated from anything on your device — they have to come from a live data source. Every other tool on this site works fully offline; this is the one exception.
Where do the exchange rates come from?
From the Frankfurter API, which publishes daily reference rates from the European Central Bank. Rates update once per business day, not in real time.
